Join Friends of the Willapa National Wildlife Refuge and naturalist Rebecca Lexa on Friday, July 15 at 6:00 pm for a 1.2-mile guided nature tour to explore the Refuge’s beautiful South Bay Trail. This special walk is for current Friends members only. This is a nice opportunity to connect with other members old and new.
Rebecca will lead walkers on this easy trail that wanders through a small grassland and a coastal forest to a scenic overlook offering unparalleled views of Willapa Bay. She will help identify the various animals and plants and you may see some of the Refuge’s many raptors, including bald eagles, northern harriers, and American kestrels.
Please register at https://friendsofwillaparefuge.org/Events to reserve your spot as attendance is limited. Meet Rebecca at the South Bay Parking Area; follow Sandridge Road and turn on 95th Place East and continue to the end. Parking is available along the gravel road by the fence line. Please do not block the gate.
